Logan Thomas and Curtis Samuel trending to play Monday

November 28, 2021 by Redskins Wire

The Washington Football Team received good news Saturday.

TE Logan Thomas and WR Curtis Samuel are both looking like they will be able to play on Monday Night Football when the Seattle Seahawks invade Fed Ex Field.

Also revealed Saturday was the fact that Samuel, who has not played since Week 5, did undergo a core muscle surgery in June as first reported by John Keim.

Washington WR Curtis Samuel underwent core muscle surgery by Dr. William Meyers in June. He returned for a visit the week of the Bucs game, then again last week, when he received a steroid and anti-inflammatory injection, a source confirmed (1st by @john_keim).

Head Coach Ron Rivera made it clear that both Thomas and Samuel would be on a pitch count (snap count) and that the medical personnel will monitor closely both returning players.

Regarding Samuel, Rivera said, “I like the way he has been working and practicing. We will check to see how he is tomorrow (Sunday). I feel confident in him right now. There is going to be a pitch count. We are going to stick to the pitch count. That has already been determined. Last time we had to come off of it (the pitch count) and unfortunately it led to him missing more time.”

Curtis Samuel on his injury: “I didn’t imagine it to go this long. It’s really crazy. It’s frustrating. … When you want to be out there so bad and something like this happens, it brings you down a little bit. I had a lot of people in my corner to help get my spirits up.”

When asked concerning Logan Thomas, Rivera replied, “With Logan it is not as severe a pitch count, but it will be good to have him back out there. It (Thomas’ snap count) will be higher than Curtis’ is, but we will want to keep an eye on him as well.”

Washington also ruled out RT Sam Cosmi and C Tyler Larsen for Monday against Seattle.

TE Ricky Seals-Jones is listed as doubtful; while Samuel and WR Adam Humphries are questionable.
