Washington tight end Logan Thomas returned to practice on Wednesday, and now the team has 21 days to either activate him to the main roster or place him on season-ending injured reserve.
In Wednesday’s practice, Thomas appeared to be moving well.

Does that mean he’ll play on Monday night against the Seattle Seahawks? No, but Washington has been cautious with Thomas, and it appears to be paying off with him close to a return.
Thomas injured his hamstring early in a Week 4 win over the Falcons and was placed on IR. Thomas has 12 receptions for 117 yards and two touchdowns through three games.
Thomas’ return will be a welcome sight for quarterback Taylor Heinicke, who is coming off the best two-game stretch of his young career. During Thomas’ absence, Ricky Seals-Jones started in his place and proved to be a reliable weapon.
Seals-Jones missed the Week 11 win over the Panthers, and rookie John Bates started — and played well.
Thomas will certainly help Washington’s red-zone offense upon his return, which has struggled at times in 2021.
