The Cowboys kicked off the weekend by putting the finishing touches on a deal that would send wide receiver Amari Cooper to the Cleveland Browns.
According to reports, the trade in question would send the four-time Pro Bowler to The Land in exchange for a fifth-rounder and a swap of later-round picks. But at least one ESPN analyst isn’t really feeling the Amari Cooper trade.
“For Amari Cooper’s contract, would rather draft a receiver tbh,” Damien Woody tweeted.

Cooper has been on the trading block for some weeks now, as Dallas looks to unload $16 million of much-needed cap space.
The way the wideout’s five-year, $100 million contract was structured, Cooper has a cap hit of $22 million in each of the next three seasons.
Once the deal is finalized, Cooper adds a nice threat to the Browns’ passing attack. His route-running and hands put him in the upper-tier of NFL receivers; and should complement Jarvis Landry and Co. well.

However, that largely hinges on the play of former first overall pick Baker Mayfield. The fifth-year starter should be fully-recovered from the rash of injuries that plagued his season this past year. But, which Baker we’ll get is anyone’s question.
Amari Cooper should only help the Browns offense. Although that’s what many thought when Odell Beckham Jr. arrived in Ohio as well.
