For the second time this week, a fan has been ejected from an NBA game for protesting near the court.
The Memphis Grizzlies hosted the Minnesota Timberwolves in game one of their playoff series on Saturday afternoon. Action was paused late in the second quarter.
A fan threw something on the court and then chained herself to the basketball goal. Security became involved quickly, loosened the chain and carried her out of the arena.
It’s a pretty surreal scene.
“Another fan disruption. This time in Memphis,” Damichael Cole tweeted. “A woman has chained her self to the back of the goal. It took some but security was able to cut the chain and carry the woman out.”

This is the second time this week something like this occurred.
During the Timberwolves vs. Clippers play-in tournament game this week, a fan glued herself to the court during the action. A game delay ensued as security worked to unglue her hand and get her off the court. It was a pretty wild scene.
It’s unclear if these two acts of supposed protest are linked. It certainly doesn’t seem like just a coincidence.
NBA security has been busy this week, that’s for sure.
