Most coaches lack the job security to comfortably plant their roots for the long haul. While Matt Nagy’s four-year tenure with the Bears ended unceremoniously, he at least lived in luxury.
As noted by Brendan Sugrue of Bears Wire, Nagy put his Lake Bluff, Illinois, home on the market. The home was “temporarily off market” as of Sunday afternoon, so it might be too late for anyone hoping to buy the six-bedroom, six-bathroom mansion for the modest $6,199,000 list price.
Before it got taken down, Sugrue documented some of the house’s finer seller points. Nagy, who took the Bears’ head-coaching job in 2018, created an extravagant shrine to the club.
Matt Nagy really went all in with this $6 million house he’s now selling.
1. His playsheet wall is still up.
2. He installed orange lockers.
3. He has a custom Bears basketball court with an “N” at the free-throw line.

The home features installed orange lockers, a home gym, a wet bar, and an outdoor fire pit. But that’s not all.
Nagy’s draft board that went viral in 2020 remains intact, and it looks like he could have played some pool if he got bored in between picks. There’s also a custom basketball court decorated in Bears color with a scoreboard and “N” emblem on the free-throw line.
Parker Molloy brought special attention to a theater room surrounded by bear-themed movie posters such as Bad News Bears.

Nagy might have figured he’d stick around longer after winning Coach of the Year in his inaugural season. However, the Bears haven’t had a winning season since, and they fired him following last year’s 6-11 finish.
The coach has already accepted a new job as a senior assistant and quarterbacks coach for the Kansas City Chiefs, where he previously worked as a quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator from 2013 to 2017. Looks like it’s time to get some red paint for his new home.
