After four years of exceptional football, Cleveland Browns cornerback Denzel Ward got a reward today to the tune of a $100 million contract extension. One of his contemporaries is especially happy for him.
Taking to Twitter on Monday, Los Angeles Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey congratulated Ward on getting his contract. He said that Ward deserved his money and believes he’s worthy of joining the “$100 million club.”
“I been waiting on somebody else to touch that 100 club & you DEFINITELY DESERVE IT (Denzel Ward)… congrats,” Ramsey wrote.
Ramsey set the tweet so that only Ward could comment on it. And Ward quickly obliged:
“Respect! Appreciate you brotha (100 emoji) let’s keep going,” Ward replied.

Jalen Ramsey has been to the Pro Bowl five straight years and is widely considered the top player at his position right now. He got his big payday two years ago with a five-year, $100 million extension of his own.
But Denzel Ward is no slouch. In four seasons with the Cleveland Browns, Ward has two Pro Bowls, 10 interceptions, two pick-sixes and 50 passes defended.
Ward is widely regarded as one of the best cover corners in the NFL. There’s a case to be made that he might be the best in the AFC since Ramsey is in the NFC.
If we want to see the two put their skills to the test against one another, we’ll have to wait a while. The Browns and Rams won’t play each other in 2022 – unless they meet in the Super Bowl.
