The Ryan Fitzpatrick era for the Washington Football Team didn’t start on the right note. On Sunday, the veteran quarterback suffered a hip injury that’ll sideline him 6-to-8 weeks.
Taylor Heinicke, who came in for Washington once Fitzpatrick went down against the Los Angeles Chargers, will start this Thursday against the New York Giants.
Even though Heinicke has proven before that he’s a reliable backup quarterback, Washington might want to consider looking around the league for help at that position. The front office could also search the free agent market to see what’s out there.
If the Washington Football Team decides to evaluate the current options on the open market, they might find themselves reconnecting with a familiar face in Robert Griffin III.
On Monday, Griffin threw his name into the mix for Washington by posting an old highlight from his time in the nation’s capital. The video included this caption: “Make the call.”

Griffin last played for Washington in 2015. His career with the franchise started off with such promise, winning Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2012 and leading the team to the playoffs.
Unfortunately, Griffin was never the same after suffering a torn ACL in January of 2013. The former No. 2 pick recently played for the Baltimore Ravens before deciding to join ESPN as an analyst.
Washington fans, would you want to see the team reunite with RG3?
