The Seattle Seahawks have lost both their offensive and defensive leader this offseason. First, the team traded Russell Wilson to Denver. Then Seattle released Bobby Wagner. Wagner has since found a new home.
Wagner has signed a massive deal with the rival Los Angeles Rams. He’s getting five years worth upwards of $65 million.
Wilson, his former Seattle teammate, couldn’t be happier for him.
“Congrats @Bwagz! You deserve it all Legend!” Wilson said. “As we always say, ‘Don’t get bored with consistency.’ Love you forever bro!”

It’s pretty wild the Seattle Seahawks let both Russell Wilson and Bobby Wagner go. They’ve been team leaders for years. Seattle is clearly undergoing a rebuild.
The Rams, meanwhile, will be the favorite to win the NFC this upcoming season. Wagner joins an already-excellent Los Angeles defense.
“Bobby Wagner’s back in the NFC West to chase a Super Bowl ring,” writes Grant Gordon of NFL.com.
“The longtime Seattle Seahawks All-Pro linebacker has agreed to terms with the Los Angeles Rams, the team announced Thursday. Wagner is getting a five-year, $50 million deal in Los Angeles worth up to $65 million with incentives, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported.”
Richard Sherman, another former Seattle Seahawk, was actually first on the news.
The veteran defensive back noted the Ravens were also in the mix.
The rich get richer! Lose future HOF @VonMiller and gain future HOF @Bwagz. The @Ravens made a last min push but the Reigning champs @RamsNFL were too good to pass up.

The Rams will be as dangerous as ever next season.
