Rain and thunderstorms have been hitting TPC Sawgrass hard this week. It’s not expected to get much better, per Tour on-site meteorologist Wade Stettner.
“Tomorrow looks like a rough day,” said Stettner, via Golf Channel. “We could be battling thunderstorms throughout most of the day.”
We could seriously be looking at a possible Monday finish. Even Tuesday could be in the cards. The last time The Players finished on a Monday was 2005.
“The last Monday finish at The Players was in 2005,” Justin Ray tweeted. “The third round was completed Monday that week.”

The current weather radar map indicates the storms aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. The Players is expected to make an additional announcement regarding Friday’s play at some point this afternoon.
