Arch Manning‘s recruitment has already taken a few twists and turns. Earlier this month, Alabama emerged as the favorite to land the 2023 five-star quarterback. However, there’s a new favorite in the mix. The University of Texas is where one expert expects Manning to play his college ball.
Eric Nahlin of On3 submitted his prediction for Manning’s recruitment this week. The Longhorns are the pick.
“After mentioning the recruitment of 2023 New Orleans (La.) Isidore Newman QB and Five-Star Plus+ Arch Manning as something worth Texas fans paying attention to, even briefly before Tom Herman’s 2020 curtain call, I’ve entered an official prediction for Texas to land the nation’s top prospect,” Nahlin writes, via On3.
Arch Manning has long been rumored to have a strong relationship with Texas head football coach Steve Sarkisian. That relationship could make all the difference in the five star’s recruitment.

If Texas can somehow land Arch Manning, it’d be in great shape at the quarterback position in coming years. Quinn Ewers is expected to win the starting gig this offseason and maintain that role for the next few years. The Longhorns could then turn to Manning.
To get the deal done, however, Sarkisian and the Longhorns have to have a successful 2022 season. The best way to attract top-tier recruits is by winning and winning big. Can Texas get the job done this upcoming season?
