After opening up the third round of the Masters with a bogey, Tiger Woods managed to pick up his first birdie of the weekend on the second hole. Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse on the 5th hole.
Since the odds of Woods coming up with a birdie on this hole were fairly slim, he tried to use his third attempt as a chance to get within five feet of the hole.
Woods executed that part of the plan fairly well. However, the 15-time major champion was unable to save par.
To make matters worse, Woods missed his follow-up attempt. As a result, he finished the par-4 with a double bogey.
According to the PGA Tour, this was Woods’ second career four-putt at the Masters Tournament and 15th of his PGA TOUR career.

This was a bad beat for Woods, who is now 3-over in the tournament.
Woods still has plenty of time to turn things around this Saturday afternoon, but he has to be frustrated with the way the 5th hole played out.
Full coverage of the third round of the Masters will be available on CBS starting at 3 p.m. ET.
