In just two years with the Cleveland Browns, general manager Andrew Berry has become one of the league’s most prolific executives. Between getting the Browns out of their playoff drought to some of his blockbuster trades, he’s becoming a force to be reckoned with.
But a recent viral tweet from his wife indicates that his NFL success might have been inevitable. On Monday, Brittan Berry posted some old papers her husband made in the fifth grade where he was managing salary caps for fun.
“Apparently my husband started managing salary caps for fun in the 5th grade. I’m told he would rush to finish his homework so he could do this,” Berry wrote.
Berry’s tweet already has over 2,000 likes and several hundred retweets. The comments are pretty sweet too:

If my hobby as a 10-year-old became my adult career, I’d be a Lisa Frank artist.🤷🏽♀️ pic.twitter.com/a6SWtDDlk2— Brittan Berry (@brittanberry) April 18, 2022
“Be careful w/ those papers! They may be going to Canton one day!” NFL Network’s Aditi Kinkhabwala wrote.
“Cleveland should’ve let AB name the baseball team… cause the Crushers I could get behind,” one fan wrote, pointing to a list of team names that Berry created as a child.
“looks like Andrew Berry has been working on this Denzel extension for a longgggg time,” wrote another, referencing today’s big Denzel Ward contract extension.
“Andrew berry is the best Gm in the league,” a third fan wrote.
In his two years as the Browns general manager, the team has gone 19-14. It’s their highest win total over a two-year span since the franchise returned in 1999.
And at just 35 years old, Andrew Berry could only be getting better at his job.
