This weekend’s Players Championship has been a wacky event for a number of reason, this new Tiger Woods putt video being one of them.
Throughout the weekend, NBC/Golf Channel has been utilizing “Gold Man” as part of its broadcast. If you’re unfamiliar, “Gold Man” is “mixed reality,” a real-time 3D hologram-type creature whose likeness and swing is supposed to be a blend of former Players Championship winners.
This afternoon, “Gold Man” reenacted Tiger Wood’s iconic “better than most” putt on the 17th hole at the 2001 TPC.
It was interesting to watch, to say the least.
How ‘bout that, huh? 🐅 pic.twitter.com/IVhDPqm0DX

We’re still waiting on Tiger to complete his comeback and possibly return to the PGA Tour, but until then, “Gold Man” might be the closest thing we get to the 15-time major champion.
Despite starting on Thursday morning, the TPC is currently only in Round 3 after rain and inclement weather wrecked havoc on the event over the last couple of days.
Currently, Sam Burns and Tom Hoge are atop the leaderboard at -7, followed by Erik Van Rooyen and Harold Varner at -6.
