Detroit Tigers pitcher Tyler Alexander made a costly error in the first inning of tonight’s matchup against the New York Yankees.
With two outs and the bases loaded on a full count, Yankees batter Josh Donaldson popped one up high over home plate. Catcher Tucker Barnhart backpedaled to get under the pop-up, but the wind took it toward Alexander.
For some reason, Alexander nonchalantly tried to make the catch and ended up dropping it. As a result of this error, two New York players made their way home to give the Yankees a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning.

To say it has been an inauspicious start to tonight’s game for Detroit would be an understatement.
Alexander left after one inning and was replaced by Rony Garcia, who did this in the top of the second.
WHAT IS GOING ON IN DETROIT?!
This might be the craziest pitch I have EVER SEEN

Adding potential injury to insult, Garcia had to leave the game with some type of physical issue. Will Vest replaced him.
The Tigers are 4-5 to start the 2022 MLB season. The Yankees are 5-5.
