After 12 long years with the Detroit Lions, Matthew Stafford finally got the chance to lead a competent organization in the LA Rams.
Just one year later, the 34-year-old is a Super Bowl champion and coming off one of his better statistical seasons ever. And according to The Athletic‘s Jourdan Rodrigue, his banner year could lead to a massive payday to keep him in sunny, Los Angeles.
Per Rodrigue, Matthew Stafford’s new contract with the Rams could be as high as $45 million annually.

Despite some struggles in Super Bowl LVI, Stafford showed up when the Rams needed him most. Leading LA’s offense on a late go-ahead drive, down some of his top weapons.
On the season, Stafford threw for 4,886 yards and 41 touchdowns to 17 interceptions. All while leading the Rams to a 12-5 record and eventual Lombardi trophy.
The Rams have made Matthew Stafford’s contract a priority.

The Rams have a number of other stars that are set to be free agents, including star wideout Odell Beckham Jr. and Von Miller.
However, LA has a way of working their cap magic to ensure all their stars are happy wearing blue and gold.
