The Pittsburgh Steelers might be offering a hint at which quarterbacks they’re truly interested in leading up to the NFL Draft.
Mike Tomlin admitted on Sunday that he will not be in attendance for Sam Howell’s North Carolina pro day this week.
While Tomlin is “pissed” about missing it, this could be a sign that other quarterbacks – Malik Willis, mainly – are higher on their draft board.
Tomlin was in attendance at Willis’ pro day earlier this month.
Why does Mike Tomlin attend so many Pro Days?
“I like to work… I’d rather be out beating the bushes than be behind a desk.”
Tomlin said he’ll miss Sam Howell’s Pro Day in Chapel Hill tomorrow because he’s at owners meetings in Palm Beach.
“Yeah, and I’m pissed about it.”

Steelers fans believe Howell can be crossed of the board.
“Kind of an interesting note. Would make it solely on Colbert attending in that case to keep Howell a first round consideration for the Steelers given the history of Tomlin/Colbert being at first round picks pro days since 2010,” one fan tweeted.
“Tomlin not skipping owners meetings but Colbert is… Yeah you can probably rule out Howell ,” another fan added.
“I’m not. Sam Howell has no business being a Steelers QB,” another fan added.
The Steelers have admitted that they could look to the draft for a quarterback.
Kevin Colbert said that they don’t have to reach in draft. Also said that doesn’t mean they won’t draft a QB. Did mention a handful of times of keeping their draft capital
So, I take it as if there is a QB they love at 20 they would take him, but moving up to do it is not likely
