Jacob deGrom is back doing Jacob deGrom kind of things.
He started for the New York Mets in their spring training game on Sunday and continued to be dominant. In the first inning, he struck out all three batters that he faced.

deGrom is expected to be the best pitcher in baseball again if he pitches the way he did last year. During that season, he finished with a 7-2 record and only allowed 11 earned runs.
He also had an ERA of 1.08 and struck out 146 batters.
He also pitched for three total innings in this start and gave up four hits, plus struck out five batters.
The MLB world isn’t surprised that deGrom is back to his usual shenanigans.
Pretty … pretty … good. https://t.co/Rem5XnVhO5

It’s pretty neat getting to see two of the best pitchers in baseball in Jacob deGrom and Max Scherzer pitch back to back for the same team in the same game even though it is spring training.

deGrom will look to help get the Mets back to the playoffs this season for the first time since 2016.
