Dallas Goedert injury: Eagles tight end reportedly could land on injured reserve
Philadelphia’s top tight end is said to be “week-to-week” with a knee injury that isn’t season-ending.
Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert could be headed to the injured reserve list after suffering a knee injury during the team’s Week 13 win over the Baltimore Ravens, according to a report from the Inquirer’s Jeff McLane.
If Goedert’s placed on IR prior to this Sunday, he’ll automatically miss the following four games:
- Week 14 vs. Carolina Panthers
- Week 15 at Pittsburgh Steelers
- Week 16 at Washington Commanders
- Week 17 vs. Dallas Cowboys
Goedert would be eligible to return for the Eagles’ regular season finale at home against the New York Giants. So, good news that he’s expected to be available for the playoffs.
But Goedert’s continued struggles to stay healthy aren’t ideal. He hasn’t played an entire season since his rookie year in 2018. He’s missed 11 of the Eagles’ last 46 possible regular season games (about 24%).
Goedert missed time earlier this season when he got hurt on the Eagles’ first drive against the Cleveland Browns and sat out of their next three games. Grant Calcaterra did a nice job of stepping up as the top tight end during that stretch and he’ll be called upon to serve in that role again.

Eagles waive Parris Campbell
The veteran wide receiver could return to the practice squad once again.
The Philadelphia Eagles waived veteran wide receiver Parris Campbell on Monday evening, according to an official team announcement.
This news comes after the Eagles signed Campbell from their practice squad to their roster on Saturday. With both DeVonta Smith and Johnny Wilson unable to play in Week 13, the Eagles wanted to have Campbell suit up for them in order to have more wide receiver depth. And they could not merely use a temporary practice squad elevation since he’s out of those for the rest of the regular season. Campbell’s dismissal could portend well for the chances of Smith and/or Wilson returning to the field this weekend.

Cowboys getting early glimpse of what life without Zack Martin could be like
We could, unfortunately, be witnessing the final games of one of the greatest Dallas Cowboys careers ever.
The 34-year-old hasn’t quite been himself this season but has showed his toughness by playing through a multitude of injuries. A couple weeks ago those injuries became too much, causing him to miss the last two games against the Commanders and Giants. Playing on an expiring contract and possibly mulling retirement after the season, we could be getting the first glimpse of life without him.
There is no way the Dallas Cowboys can easily replace a seven-time First-team All-Pro and nine-time Pro Bowl player. Players of Zack Martin’s caliber are few and far between, making his potential retirement all the more concerning. But, father time catches up with all of us and there is absolutely nothing we can do about it. That looks to be the situation No. 70 currently finds himself in.

San Francisco 49ers Williams, wife, grieve loss of stillborn son
Sondra Williams, the wife of San Francisco 49ers left tackle Trent Williams, announced that the couple had a son, Trenton Jr., who was stillborn on Nov. 24.
Posting to her Instagram account over the weekend, Sondra Williams said Trenton Jr. was stillborn 35 weeks into her pregnancy, adding that the couple lost Trenton’s twin earlier in her pregnancy.
In the post, Sondra Williams said Trenton Jr. had been diagnosed with trisomy 13, also known as Patau syndrome. According to the National Institute of Health, trisomy 13 is “a type of chromosome disorder characterized by having three copies of chromosome 13 in cells of the body, instead of the usual two.”
Trisomy 13 causes “severe intellectual disability and many physical abnormalities” and the Cleveland Clinic states that trisomy 13 symptoms are “life-threatening and many cases result in a miscarriage or the baby passing away before turning 1.”
Niners coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed Monday afternoon that Trent Williams, who has sat out the past couple of games because of a left ankle injury, had spent much of last week grieving the loss of his son.

MVP race is currently down to two players: Josh Allen and Saquon Barkley
With five weeks to go in the regular season, the consensus top two betting favorites for the award are Bills quarterback Josh Allen and Eagles running back Saquon Barkley.
Allen is the only one with negative odds. Barkley is in the range of 3:1 to 5:1.
After that, Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has dropped to roughly 9:1 to 13:1. Lions quarterback Jared Goff is in the same range, and Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is behind it, by a bit.
