Myles Garrett has openly entertained the possibility of playing with Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders

Cleveland Browns star defensive end Myles Garrett has made his rounds on radio row following announcing his desire to be traded to another team. On Monday, Garrett issued a statement officially requesting a trade from the Browns, citing his desire to “win and compete,” but that complacency won’t allow him to stay in Cleveland just because he loves the city. Cleveland has already responded to Garrett’s statement, stating that they do not want to trade Myles Garrett and have no plans to do so. However, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Garrett is just as firm in his decision.

Since his announcement, Garrett has been in New Orleans on several platforms, openly entertaining the thought of playing with the Washington Commanders.

Would playing alongside a rising star like Jayden Daniels appeal to Myles Garrett?

“Absolutely.”

Had a chance to chat with Myles about his trade request, what he’s looking for, and what he wants for his football legacy. Full interview: https://t.co/BGwGs7Zbga pic.twitter.com/Mn1yO2mmyj

The elephant in the room is Garrett’s contract situation. While Fowler reported Garrett’s desire to leave Cleveland is not a ploy for new money but strictly to win, Garrett has plenty of time to change his stance and take a new contract from the Browns. Alternatively, Garrett is likely looking for a new contract from whichever team he is traded to, as he’ll field several suitors financially capable of taking on a player of his caliber. In addition to the Commanders, other NFC teams top ten in cap space include the Arizona Cardinals, Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Lions, and San Francisco 49ers.

On the latest Trap or Dive episode, we discussed Washington’s trade scenarios for Myles Garrett and Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp. Additionally, we discussed Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins’ situation from a trade and free-agent perspective.

What trade scenarios make the most sense for Washington? Tee Higgins, Cooper Kupp, or Myles Garrett? Could Washington entertain acquiring both Kupp and Garrett?
