Following the huge week of NFL trades and the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, CBS Sports’ Tom Fornelli has updated his 2022 NFL Mock Draft.
Seattle trading Russell Wilson to Denver, Fornelli projects the Seahawks will trade up from their new No. 9 position to No. 7 not taking any chances, getting their first choice of the 2022 quarterback class, Malik Willis (Liberty U).
Washington is projected to remain at the No. 11 slot and select LSU cornerback Derek Stingley, Jr. a 6-1 195 lb Junior. If Stingley is the best athlete available at No. 11, cornerback would be a good place to go.
Personally, giving up a couple of draft choices for Carson Wentz, and his counting $28 million against the cap, I hope the Commanders seriously consider trading back a few spots in the first round, obtaining back another draft choice as well.
The next quarterback off the board in this mock draft is Cincinnati Bearcat Desmond Ridder at No. 20 to the Steelers. Ridder tested impressively, displaying great athletic ability.
Tampa Bay at No. 27 selects the third quarterback, Nevada’s Carson Strong. Strong’s knee problem has been a concern, but not his arm talent.
The fourth and final quarterback for this mock draft ironically is the one most mock drafts have had going as the first quarterback off of the board. Detroit with the final first-round selection at No. 32 takes Pitt’s Kenny Pickett.
