Angelina, who goes by Ang, was born in Ukraine. Most of her family is currently trapped in the country amid Russia’s invasion. It’s an understandably terrifying situation.
“I call them up on the phone, and they answer it. They’re sitting in the dark in the basement. I’m like what’s going on?” Angelina Sample said.

Ang and Drew are currently working to get their family, particularly their grandmother, out of the country.
“The conditions are pretty miserable for a 76-year-old woman to be hiding in a basement at her age. It’s just dangerous for her to even get in and out, but to stay in her house is even more dangerous with air raid sirens going off,” Ang said.
Drew Sample, 25, was a second round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft out of Washington.
