Playoffs!
The Washington Commanders entered Week 15 knowing that they couldn’t move down from the 7th seed in the NFC, but they could get some help getting to the 6th seed. The Green Bay Packers defeated the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday Night Football, keeping Washington at the 7th seed for another week. The Commanders can move up to the 6th seed next week with a win at home against the Philadelphia Eagles, and a Packers loss to the Saints. Washington would hold the conference tie breaker(7-3 vs 5-5 NFC). Geaux Saints!
Washington could get up to the 5th seed the following week, but they’d need a Vikings losing streak, and a big win over the Philadelphia Eagles. We’ll look into that more next week if Minnesota somehow loses to the Bears tonight.
The Detroit Lions lost to the Buffalo Bills and the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Pittsburgh Steelers. That gives them both a 12-2 record, but the Lions keep the top spot for now due to tie-breakers.
The Washington Commanders are 9-5, and holding off most of the weak NFC. The Seattle Seahawks dropped to 8th place after their loss, with the Los Angeles Rams moving into the lead in the NFC West, and the 4th seed. Washington holds the conference tie breaker(6-3 vs 4-5 NFC), and would need to lose two, and two Seahawks wins, to drop out of the 7th seed. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers would hold the head-to-head tiebreaker against Washington, but they’re currently leading the NFC South, and the 3rd seed.
