Earlier this week, Green Bay Packers GM Brian Gutekunst turned a few heads when he revealed not a single NFL GM has reached out to him about an Aaron Rodgers trade.
“Not at all,” Gutekunst told reporters. “Not at all. Not a single person.”
Seriously? Does he actually believe fans are going to buy this? We don’t, that’s for sure.
It’d be practically NFL malpractice if teams weren’t in contact about the Packers about a trade for Rodgers. Even a single phone call would suffice. Is Gutekunst hiding something the rest of us should know about the back-to-back MVP?
“Gutekunst’s claim counters a recent report from ESPN NFL insider Dianna Russini, who said ‘multiple’ teams have trade offers in place for Rodgers,” writes Adam London of NESN.com. “This is much easier to believe, as it would be business malpractice for teams to not do their due diligence on Rodgers while his status remains up in the air.”

The good news is we probably won’t have to keep waiting much longer on Aaron Rodgers to make a decision. The Packers GM added during his remarks that he expects the franchise quarterback to make a decision on his future by the time the new league year begins.
“I would hope so, yeah,” Gutekunst said, via ESPN.com. “That’s obviously the start of the new league year. There’s a lot of decisions that have to be made before that. So that would be helpful. I would think we would know something before then.”
Will Aaron Rodgers be playing for the Packers next season?
