Shaedon Sharpe, the No. 4 recruit in the 2022 cycle, made his college commitment on Tuesday evening. He’s heading to Lexington.
Sharpe has committed to John Calipari and the Kentucky Wildcats. He is UK’s second commitment in the 2022 cycle, joining five-star point guard Skyy Clark.
“It was a tough decision, but I felt they had a clear plan for me as I work to play at the highest level,” Sharpe told ESPN’s Jonathan Givony. “Coach Cal took the time to understand who I was as a person and how to get the best out of me. Kentucky felt the most like home to me. I get the sense that I can grow to reach my potential on and off the court at Kentucky given the platform, atmosphere and legacy.”
Sharpe is a 6-foot-5 shooting guard out of the state of Arizona. The talented prospect checks in as the No. 4 overall and No. 2 shooting guard in the 2022 cycle, per the 247Sports composite score.

Shaedon Sharpe is the No. 1 overall recruit in ESPN’s recruiting services.
Believe it or not, he’s the first No. 1 overall recruit to commit to Kentucky since Nerlens Noel back in 2012.
“Here’s a CRAZY stat: If Kentucky gets a commitment tonight from Shaedon Sharpe (as expected), it would be the first time John Calipari has landed the No. 1 player in the country in a decade — since @NerlensNoel3 back in 2012,” reported college basketball insider Jeff Goodman via Twitter.

Sharpe chose Kentucky over Arizona, Kansas, Kentucky, Oklahoma State and the G League.
The Wildcats continue to dominate on the recruiting trail. Sharpe will join Kentucky ahead of the 2022-23 season.
