The Washington Mystics are at the finish line, and it has been a been a season. The Mystics coming into the season were a team that most had as a dark horse to win the championship. When healthy this is a team that can compete with Las Vegas, New York, Dallas, and Connecticut.
The Mystics find themselves facing the Sparks for the final matchup of the season. The season series is tied 1-1 a piece, and today will be a big game for the Mystics. If the Mystics win, they will clinch a playoff spot, so this game is necessary for the team. The Sparks themselves are looking to stay in the playoff picture themselves.

- Injuries/Illnesses are the worst time, but we have next man up mentality
If the season had a title for a movie for the Mystics it would be why us. The team since June 9th had a clean bill of health of until the Las Vegas loss. Ariel Atkins suffered a face fracture, and Shakira Austin has a left hip injury, and there have been some NON-COVID illnesses but for the most part it has been a season with the injuries. Queen Egbo, who has not gotten a lot of playing time recently, should see a tick in her minutes as well as Tianna Hawkins and Myisha Hines-Allen. It is going to be interesting to see how the minutes will be distributed in this game. It is also fair to mention that the Sparks have had several injuries as well.
2. Just focus on the task at hand
The Sparks are coming into this game with a three-game losing streak. The Mystics cannot afford to horse around. Everyone must be on the same page with the gameplan and make Los Angeles uncomfortable on both sides of the ball.
