There was a brief interruption to the NBA playoff game between the Timberwolves and Grizzlies when a woman chained herself to one of the basket stanchions in protest as halftime approached.
The woman was wearing a shirt that said “Glen Taylor Roasts Animals Alive” and threw what looked to be a bunch of flyers to the FedEXForum floor.
Security ended up cutting the chain and carrying her out of the arena.

“It’s disheartening that the same crowd on NBA Twitter that is pro activism, union, doing the right thing, unveiling injustices, etc. laughs at activists that try to protest during games,” replied another user.

“So far this postseason we have had confetti on the court, a fan attempt to glue herself to the court, and a fan chain themselves to the basket,” replied Sixers writer Sean Barnard. “The NBA is madness.”

After two demonstrations over the course of the last seven days, you can’t help but wonder if this could be the theme of the NBA playoffs.
