Sean McVay and the Los Angeles Rams lost offensive coordinator Kevin O’Connell, who’s now the head coach of the Minnesota Vikings, following Super Bowl LVI. It didn’t take long for the team to find his replacement, though. The Rams have reportedly found their man.
McVay is hiring former Kentucky Wildcats offensive coordinator Liam Coen to the same position for the Rams, per a report.

Coen is no stranger to the Los Angeles Rams. He was their assistant quarterbacks coach during the 2020 season. The decision to leave the NFL for the college game for one year appeared to be the right move. Coen will now get his chance at being the Rams’ offensive coordinator.
McVay’s swift hire could be a positive development regarding his coaching future. There were rumors McVay could look to retire after winning Super Bowl LVI. Reports suggest he’d like to find more “balance” in his life, potentially trying to spend more time with his family. A coach looking to retire probably wouldn’t be filling out his staff so quickly, though.
