An Army football player was one of at least two cadets, and six total individuals, who was hospitalized after overdosing on fentanyl-laced cocaine in a Florida vacation home this week, according to multiple reports. No names have been released at this time.
The U.S. Military Academy and fire-rescue officials revealed the stunning details on Friday. Two of the six individuals are reportedly in serious condition. It’s unclear if the Army Football player is one of those two individuals.
“Fort Lauderdale Fire-Rescue Battalion Chief Steve Gollan told the AP on Friday afternoon that two critically ill victims were on ventilators,” the Associated Press reports, via ESPN.com. “Two other victims were in stable condition, one was in good condition and one was released.
“Gollan said earlier that after two victims collapsed Thursday, two others became ill while trying to give them CPR from the residue on their bodies. When paramedics arrived, six people at the home needed treatment.
“He said the opioid-overdose-reversing drug naloxone was administered.”

Of the six, two are in critical condition and requiring ventilators. Two are in stable condition. One is described as being in good condition and the other has been released. Again, it’s unclear the identity of the Army football player and what his condition is at this time.
This is obviously a troubling situation and we hope for a speedy recovery for all involved.
