All-Pro Reavo gets another year in Washington
The Washington Commanders have reportedly signed safety and All-Pro special teams captain Jeremy Reaves to a 1-year extension. He was entering the final year of his contract, and this will keep him in Washington through 2026. Ian Rapoport had the initial report, which was quickly confirmed by several local reporters. There were no details on the terms of the extension, and the team hasn’t officially announced the deal. He signed a 2-year, $6 million extension last year, and was set to count for $3.395 million against the cap this season.
Head coach Dan Quinn was happy when asked about Reave’s extension before the second day of mandatory minicamp. He said the Reaves news truly made him smile and he is a BMF. a true Commander. He affects all sides of the ball. The performance side, you feel him. Defensive coordinator Joe Whitt Jr called Reaves the team’s special teams ace last week and said he needs to find ways to get him more involved on defense, because he just makes plays and that’s what he’s been doing.
