It’s become pretty clear that Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson won’t be returning to the football field – for any team – until his legal issues are resolved.
But one NFL team has apparently been working hard to do their due-diligence on the situation. That team is the Philadelphia Eagles.
According to NFL insider Aaron Wilson, Eagles general manager Howie Roseman sent an investigator to Houston to look into the situation. What this investigator may have found is anyone’s guess.
However, recent reports have suggested that the Eagles won’t be making a deal for Watson – regardless of what they found. Watson reportedly will not waive his no-trade clause to play for them even if they do make an offer.
The Eagles will most likely be moving forward with Jalen Hurts as their starter.

Deshaun Watson did not play at all in 2021 despite leading the NFL in passing yards the year before. On top of being investigated for sexual misconduct in Houston, he has a rocky relationship with the Texans.
The Carolina Panthers and Washington Commanders appear to be most interested in making a deal. Given the state of their respective quarterback rooms, it’s easy to see why.
But as mentioned earlier, it’s doubtful that anyone makes a deal for Watson before his legal issues are resolved.
Who will Deshaun Watson play for if and when he returns to the league?
