Dan Snyder/Jim Irsay:
Ron Rivera on Jim Irsay’s comments about Dan Snyder…
“I’m not going to comment on that. We’re focusing in on playing football.”
— Scott Abraham (@Scott7news) October 19, 2022
Packers losing Davante Adams:
Rivera at the podium. Said losing Adams has been a huge change for the Packers, but they’re still an explosive and dynamic offense

Injured players:
Rivera said both Dotson and Cosmi looked good in limited action. Noted Cosmi is learning how to play with the cast on his left hand

Chase Young:
Right now, Chase Young’s recovery is where the doctors thought it would be, Rivera said. Young will meet with them later this week to determine the next steps.

Rivera on Chase Young’s recovery.
Says “ACL’s are not eight months.” Some guys like Adrian Peterson are freaks with their quicker returns. Could be “10 months, a year, a year-and-a-half” for a player depending on the human.
Still waiting on the re-examination with Dr. Andrews.

Taylor Heinicke:
Right now, Chase Young’s recovery is where the doctors thought it would be, Rivera said. Young will meet with them later this week to determine the next steps.

Jahan Dotson:
Rivera said Dotson’s route running ability is one of the reasons why he’s such a good red zone threat. Knows how to put his body between the ball and the defender. “He runs very mature routes.”
— Zach Selby (@ZachSelbyWC) October 19, 2022
One subtle aspect of Jahan Dotson’s skill set that is really useful in the mind of Ron Rivera is how Dotson understands body positioning and how to ensure he’s between the ball and the defender as much as possible. It’s especially vital in the red zone

Sam Cosmi at guard:
Asked Rivera about whether the coaches would consider moving Sam Cosmi to guard whenever he returns, with Cornelius Lucas remaining at RT. He seemed open to the possibility, but TBD. Cosmi’s injured thumb among the variables. Cosmi “limited” today after sitting out last 2 games.

Starting last year:
Taylor Heinicke: “The biggest thing I took away from last year was just the experience.” pic.twitter.com/jxbnhMftKn
— Matthew Paras (@Matthew_Paras) October 19, 2022
Taylor Heinicke feels like he’s “head and shoulders” above where he was when he was pushed into the starting lineup last year. Admits he was a “little overwhelmed” in 2021.
His popularity has grown too, he says— and that occasionally leads to landing free meals when he goes out pic.twitter.com/g3aHIswZIU

What’s been learned since last year:

— Zach Selby (@ZachSelbyWC) October 19, 2022
Heinicke has focused on fine tuning his mechanics since last season. Said he wasn’t using his hips enough in his throws and called the motion similar to a golf swing. After spending time in Los Angeles this offseason and work on his own, he feels more comfortable with the motion
— Zach Selby (@ZachSelbyWC) October 19, 2022
Playing the Packers again:
Heinicke is looking forward to playing the Packers, who he played against last season. Called playing at Lambeau a great experience
— Zach Selby (@ZachSelbyWC) October 19, 2022
Carson Wentz injury:
Carson Wentz told Taylor Heinicke in the locker room he thought his finger was broken.
Heinicke: “I said I’m going to pretend I didn’t hear that, because I’ve got plans to go play golf in Norfolk.”
— michael phillips (@michaelpRTD) October 19, 2022
Wentz trade:
Heinicke said he understood and accepted the team going to trade for Wentz, but he continued to work hard and be ready for an opportunity if it came his way.
On Sunday, we’ll see how that work pays off
— Zach Selby (@ZachSelbyWC) October 19, 2022
Film overload:
Taylor Heinicke believes there can be “film overload” when studying for an opponent.
Kyler Murray probably agrees
— Pete Hailey (@PeteHaileyNBCS) October 19, 2022
Logan Thomas
Calf injury:
Logan Thomas (calf) said he took a step forward today with his recovery. Will see how he feels tomorrow, but he’s hopeful for Sunday.

When asked if Dan Snyder’s situation has affected the locker room, Terry McLaurin said anything can be a distraction. If you get a flat tire, that can be a distraction, or you can move on.
“It’s just a matter of how much you let that stuff seep in.” pic.twitter.com/K5zIsHvssU
