Ron Rivera says Chase Young to miss 'a little bit of time' to begin season

Washington Commanders head coach Ron Rivera joined the “Sports Junkies” on 106.7 The Fan in Washington, D.C., Friday morning and dropped some big news.

In talking about defensive end Chase Young, Rivera stated, “he’s probably going to miss a little bit of time.”

The head coach said Young’s rehab process was going well. Young tore his ACL in a Week 10 win over Tampa Bay last November. Tight end Logan Thomas, who is also undergoing rehab from a torn ACL late last season, shared more insight as to why Young’s recovery was slightly different than his earlier this year.

“He had a pretty serious injury,” Rivera said of Young.

Rivera also discussed why he felt Young would resemble the player from 2020 when he won the NFL defensive rookie of the year award.

In other news, Rivera offered a positive update on wide receiver Curtis Samuel, indicating he’s ready to go right now.
