The New Orleans Saints could be a player for Jimmy Garoppolo this offseason.
While Jameis Winston may be a favorite to re-sign with the team, that doesn’t mean that he will. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler is reporting that it’s possible that the Saints kick the tires on Garoppolo.

This would make sense if they aren’t able to get Aaron Rodgers or Russell Wilson. Even though the Saints are in the same conference as the Seahawks or Packers, that likely wouldn’t stop them from at least calling.
Garoppolo isn’t bad, but he does have a big injury history, just like Winston. He’s torn his ACL, plus has had two ankle sprains, a sprained shoulder, and is coming off offseason shoulder surgery.
With this latest surgery, he likely won’t start throwing until training camp.
Garoppolo finished this season with 20 touchdowns and 12 interceptions off of 3,81o yards passing.
Whatever the case, the Saints will have plenty of options at the quarterback position this offseason. Perhaps their plans will be known a bit more by March 16th when free agency opens.
