Fresh off winning Super Bowl 56, Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay can’t stop avoiding questions about his NFL future. Believe it or not, it appears he’s considering stepping away.
When asked by a reporter from the Los Angeles Times whether McVay will be coaching next season, the Rams head coach gave a non-committal and frankly cryptic answer.
“We’ll see,” said McVay.
So the door is open. It appears there’s a legitimate chance McVay chooses to walk away and ride off into the sunset after winning a Super Bowl.
A decision doesn’t appear to be right around the corner, however. McVay added that he’d like to simply enjoy this moment, celebrate with his team and then come to a decision down the road.
“I’m just enjoying this moment right now,” McVay told Hernandez, adding that a Super Bowl title would definitely make it easier to walk away when the time is right, via NFL.com. “I’m really happy to be a part of this. Happy for that.”

This could all be a ploy by Sean McVay to gain some leverage regarding an extension with the Rams.
“Gotta hope this is just a play for a huge new deal…,” a fan wrote.
“There is no way a 36 year old head coach is retiring from the NFL after he just won the Super Bowl,” one fan tweeted.
On the flip side, retiring at age 36 with a Super Bowl ring in hand is a pretty baller move. It doesn’t get much better than that.
“Sean McVay told me before the Super Bowl that he is committed to coaching. But at the least, this bears watching,” tweeted NFL insider Ian Rapoport.
