The Ringer’s Bill Simmons used 15 exclamation points to convey his excitement before theorizing that Johnson’s presence ensures a thrilling finish.
The sight of Gus Johnson should have immediately moved the line from “Philly by 7.5” to “this game will be decided in the last 30 seconds”

Jimmy Traina of Sports Illustrated said he thought Johnson was holding back in hopes of calling an epic conclusion to the opening-round contest.
Gus definitely cooking early tonight while still pacing himself for going ballistic later on. Just so much fun to listen to.

We’ll have to see if the 76ers and Raptors let Johnson provide a vibrant soundtrack to another nail-biter finish.
While Philadelphia ran away with a 131-111 triumph Saturday to start the series, Monday’s action has been a more back-and-forth affair. Yet the 76ers quickly bolstered their lead to 50-42 in the second quarter following a 7-0 run.
