The Pittsburgh Steelers have made a savvy addition at the wide receiver position.
Pittsburgh has claimed receiver Myles Boykin off waivers from the Baltimore Ravens, per Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.

This is a classic depth signing by the Steelers. Outside of Diontae Johnson and Chase Claypool, they had next to nobody at wide receiver.
That’s due to all three of JuJu Smith-Schuster, James Washington, and Ray-Ray McCloud signing elsewhere during the offseason.
Boykin is a former 2019 third-round pick out of Notre Dame. He spent the first three seasons of his career with the Ravens before he was waived on Monday.
The production hasn’t been there during that time, but perhaps a change of scenery will do him wonders.
Steelers fans are excited about the signing since it carries very little risk.
#Steelers adding some much-needed depth to the Wide Receiver room. Boykin has all the measurables, but battled a hamstring injury for a large chunk of last season. https://t.co/hSPa8gstNb

Solid depth signing for the Steelers. Assuming they draft a guy, Boykin will be the 4th guy on the depth chart. Plus, Pittsburgh still has Anthony Miller on the roster. https://t.co/HtFmvqzGUB

This is … interesting.
Worth taking a shot on the 6-4, 230 pound guy for sure though. https://t.co/TIfsSobbyZ— Colin Dunlap (@colin_dunlap) April 19, 2022
Miles Boykin is 6-4 and ran a 4.42 at the combine at 220 pounds. Doesn’t hurt to add him to the room! https://t.co/uSHSpAXtoD

Only semi-surprise is the claiming him off waivers and the bigger contract he has after hitting PPE marks.
But Pittsburgh showed interest in him as a H/W/S guy from Notre Dame. And WR depth was…thin.

There it is. Worth a flier imo https://t.co/w90qwp3O89

Even though the Steelers picked Boykin up, this likely won’t impact their plans of adding another receiver via the draft.
