Just over 24 hours ago, the Baltimore Ravens made the surprising decision to move on from a veteran wide receiver.
The team decided it was time to move on from former third-round pick Miles Boykin. The former Notre Dame star started 24 games in his first two seasons, totaling 32 catches for 464 yards and seven touchdowns.
After taking a step back in 2021, Baltimore obviously felt like it was time to move on. That decision, though, benefitted one of the team’s biggest rivals.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Pittsburgh Steelers claimed the former Notre Dame star off of waivers, according to a report from NFL Network insider Mike Garafolo.

During the 2021 season, he appeared in just eight games and had just one catch that went for six yards.
While he didn’t work out in Baltimore, the Steelers have shown they know how to evaluate talented wide receivers. Pittsburgh’s hit-rate at the wide receiver spot coming out of the draft might be the best in the entire NFL.
Now they’ll see if Boykin can help new quarterback Mitchell Trubisky – or a rookie – succeed in 2022.
