The Pittsburgh Steelers’ plan at quarterback remains a big mystery ahead of free agency next week. But there is one free agent quarterback that is apparently getting some noticeable attention from the Steelers.
Appearing on ESPN’s Get Up, NFL insider Kimberley Martin found one particular name that “people in the building” like. New Orleans Saints quarterback Jameis Winston, who went 5-2 as a starter before suffering a season-ending injury, is reportedly seen as a good fit in Pittsburgh.
“I actually like the fit. And there are people in that building who do like Jameis and are high on him,” Martin said.
Before his injury, Winston was completing 59-percent of his passes for 1,170 yards and 14 touchdowns with just three interceptions. It was the highest touchdown rate and lowest interception rate of his career.

But between his injury and the Saints hiring a new head coach in Dennis Allen, Jameis Winston may not have a future in New Orleans.
We all know that, when unrestrained, Winston has the ability to totally air the ball out. In 2019 he led the NFL in passing yards and interceptions with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. His undoing has always been his penchant for turning the ball over.
With the right coaching, it’s not hard to believe that Winston can correct the errors that have plagued him and become a long-term starter again.
Are the Pittsburgh Steelers a good fit for Jameis Winston?
