The Pittsburgh Steelers are reportedly bolstering their secondary by signing a former Dallas Cowboy.
Former Cowboys safety Damontae Kazee has signed a deal with the Steelers. It’s a one-year contract.
Kazee spent the first four years of his professional career with the Atlanta Falcons. In 2020, he spent the year recovering from a torn Achilles. In 2021, he signed a one-year deal with the Cowboys and made a strong impression in Dallas.
Kazee started 15 games for the Cowboys and had 52 tackles, two picks and two forced fumbles.

Kazee, 28, is expected to play a significant role in the Steelers’ secondary this upcoming season. He joins a secondary that features Karl Joseph, Minkah Fitzpatrick and Terrell Edmunds.
The Steelers, meanwhile, are entering a pivotal offseason. They drafted Kenny Pickett and former South Dakota State standout Chris Oladokun in the 2022 NFL Draft. They join a quarterback room that features Mitch Trubisky and Mason Rudolph.
Mike Tomlin told reporters that Pickett has a chance to be the team’s Week 1 starter.
“He certainly has a chance (to be our Week 1 starter),” he said, via NFL.com. “I agree with that sentiment of his readiness from a professional perspective.”
It’s going to be a fascinating offseason in Pittsburgh.
