The Pittsburgh Steelers were missing their best wide receiver during voluntary offseason workouts on Monday.
Monday marked the start of the program for the team, but it shouldn’t be seen as too big of a deal since the workouts aren’t mandatory.
Johnson reportedly wants to get paid, per Andrew Fillipponi.

Should the Steelers give Diontae Johnson a new deal?

Johnson is coming off his best season yet as a Steeler. He finished the year with 1,161 receiving yards and eight touchdowns off of 107 receptions.
He also led the NFL with the least amount of drops for the first couple of months of the season before that issue came up late in the year.
With JuJu Smith-Schuster and James Washington gone, a lot more weight will be placed on his shoulders this season. He’ll be the WR1 for the Steelers unless they make a blockbuster move or take a receiver in the first round of the NFL Draft.
So far, there have been no rumors of the two sides being close on an extension, but that can change at any time.
