The Brooklyn Nets are going to have Kyrie Irving available for practices even if he does not get vaccinated. Home games, not so much.
Irving already missed Friday night’s preseason game because of his vaccination status. The Nets appear to be anticipating more absences to come.
Head coach Steve Nash told reporters on Sunday that the team continues to prepare as if Irving won’t be able to play in any home games because of New York’s vaccination requirements.
Nets coach Steve Nash says, as of now, team is operating under assumption that Kyrie Irving won’t be available for home games due to local vaccination ordinance. As he has said previously when asked about Irving, Nash notes that things can change at any moment.

Irving has been cryptic on social media in recent days. Reports have indicated the perennial All-Star point guard does not intend to get vaccinated.
As a result, the Nets are in a tough spot. Irving is an elite player, and a major part of their “Big Three.” At the same time, how can you possibly rely on a guy who is unable to play in half of your games?
The clock is ticking for both sides to find a solution.
