We’re one hour away from the big matchup between North Carolina and St. Peter’s that will close out the Elite Eight. Ahead of that big game, the final betting line has been released.
According to Darren Rovell of The Action Network, the Tar Heels will enter tonight’s game favored by between 7.5 and 8.5 points. But despite that big spread in their favor, the majority of the betting money has gone towards their opponents.
Between five of the biggest sports books in the United States, 56- to 62-percent of the betting money has been put towards St. Peter’s. Fans clearly love the momentum that the Peacocks have built and it’s easy to see why.
The 15-seeded Peacocks have been the underdogs and lower seeds in all of their games thus far. They’ve beaten three ultra talented teams in Kentucky, Murray State and Purdue.
By contrast, the Tar Heels were the higher seed and favored in two of their first three games. Though they have arguably the most impressive win of the tournament with their victory over top-seeded Baylor in the Round of 32.
