New stadium name
The Washington Commanders played one game at Commanders Field, and that 20-10 win over the New England Patriots will go in the history books. The team lost their long-time sponsorship with FedEx when they opted out of their deal in February, a move that the new ownership group was anticipating. They switched to Commanders Field as they searched for a new naming rights partner.
The team has entered into an 8-year naming rights deal with Northwest Federal Credit Union, and the stadium will now be called Northwest Stadium. Nicki Jhabvala from the Washington Post reports that the deal will be worth more than the FedEx deal($7.5 million per year). and this deal should cover the time that Washington will be using the stadium. The team is actively looking for the next location for their new stadium, and Josh Harris told reporters on Sunday that 2030 was a target date.
- Doesn’t include any options on a potential new stadium.
- Deal does not preclude the team from opening a new stadium sooner than the expiration of this deal.

The deal runs through the 2031 season and does not carry over to a new stadium, per source. Financials were not disclosed, but source said the AAV is higher than that of the FedEx deal, which was ~$7.5M per year.https://t.co/R7B9aZJgzl
