The Washington Commanders have traded former first round pick, WR Jahan Dotson, to the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles are sending the Commanders a third-round pick, and two seventh-round picks for Dotson and Washington’s fifth-round pick.
Jahan Dotson was not having a great offseason in Washington before today’s trade. Dyami Brown has reportedly been outplaying him, and free agent signing Olamide Zaccheaus has been getting more coverage from the press. Dotson was expected to make the roster, but a trade was likely the only way he’d be on another team’s roster in Week 1.
Jahan Dotson was the No. 16 overall pick in the 2022 NFL draft. Washington traded down from No. 11 overall with the New Orleans Saints, who drafted WR Chris Olave. The Commanders added a 3rd- and 4th-round pick to move down five spots. They ended up with Brian Robinson, Sam Howell, and Cole Turner from that trade down, and now continue the trade cycle with Philadelphia.
Trade specifics:
— The fifth is the only one the Commanders have.
— The #Eagles have two 3rds, theirs and MIA’s. This pick is the better of them.
— PHI has 4 7ths. These picks are the third and fourth of them. So later in the round. https://t.co/dp3h7IDX6q— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) August 22, 2024
