The Tigers once more hit the road this year and one again brought one home. The Tigers took down the Great Danes by a final score of 36-19. The Tigers have now won 5 games away from Unitas Stadium.
Andrew Indorf had himself another solid game for the Tigers. Indorf finished 16/28 for 196 yards and a touchdown and was sacked 2 times on the day. Albany quarterback Jack Shields struggled going 15/31 for 154 a touchdown and 2 INTs and was sacked 5 times. Shields did have a 50 yard touchdown pass to open the scoring.
The Tigers got it done on the ground with 143 yards and 3 touchdowns courtesy of Winston Watkins, Kemarrion Battles and Kahseim Phillips. Watkins led the Tigers with 53 yards rushing on the day. Jojo Uga led the Great Danes with 44 yards and had a touchdown along with Aidan Semo. The Tigers defense only held Albany to 88 rushing yards on the day.
Towson’s receivers were relatively quiet on the day with Sam Reynolds having 3 catches for 48 yards and John Dunmore having 4 catches for 45 and a touchdown. Albany’s lone passing touchdown was to Lasalle Rose Jr who had 2 catches for 64 yards and a touchdown.
Towson’s defense, which at times has struggled this year, absolutely got after it against Albany. The Tigers had 7 tackles for losses, 5 sacks and forced 3 turnovers. Kaden White had a sack and a tackles for loss and forced/ recovered the fumble. Ja’Mez Drummer had 2 sacks and 2 tackles for loss and an INT. They got TFL’s from: Myles Turner, Wyatt Draeger, Branson Peters and JR Stegall. Peters and Stegall also had sacks on the day as well. Zakaa Brown had the other INT on the day.
Albany got 10 tackles from both Chris Gales and Troy Berschwinger. Gales has 1.5 TFL and 1.5 sacks on the day. He forced a fumble that Berscheinger recovered. The next closes in tackles to both of them was 6 by Balansama Kamar who had 6 as well as a .5 TFL and .5 sack on the day.
The Tigers for the final time of the 2025 will take the field at Unitas Stadium for the last time. The Tigers will be honoring 23 players this Sunday, most of whom will play their last football game of their careers. This would also be the perfect opportunity for Towson to get their first home win of the season.
The Campbell Fighting Camels will make the journey north to Baltimore to finish their season. It’s been a tough go for the Camels with a 2-8 record and 6 games by 10 points or less. Nonetheless we all know that anything can happen on a Saturday afternoon.
Kamden Sixkiller is thier man under center. While the Camels have struggled, he’s played incredibly well for them all year. With almost 1,900 yards passing and 11 touchdowns on the year he’s no slouch. It seems like it’s a matter of them just having some pretty rotten luck late in games.
The Camels have JJ Cowan running the football and with almost 600 yards and 8 touchdowns. He is a force to be reckoned with and will look to run all over Towson. Sixkiller can also run the ball and has accounted for 3 scores on the ground. The Tigers will also need to slow down Randall King and Mike Chandler who are big in their pass game and have a combined 7 touchdowns.
Defensively, they have Logan Livermon who has 74 total tackles, 6 TFL’s and 2 sacks on the year. DaVonyae Pettis has 4.5 sacks on the year and will look to get pressure on Andrew Indorf. In addition to Pettis they will need to be aware of Ashton Miller who has 3 sacks and 4.5 tackles for loss. In the secondary Towson will need to look out for Donovan Pilford and Lakeem Rudolph. Pilford has 7 pass breakups while Rudolph has an INT on the season.
The Tigers did get the better of the Camels the last time they played so hopefully it will happen again. This is a great chance for the Tigers to end the year on a high note. Game time is set for 1pm from Unitas Stadium.
GOH TIGERS!
