The Tampa Bay Buccaneers promoted assistant strength & conditioning coach Maral Javadifar to the newly created position of Director of Rehabilitation and Performance Coach on Monday.
According to the team’s official statement, Javadifar will work on “developing and implementing training methods and rehabilitation regimens for the players.”
“I am excited for this opportunity to enhance our process focused on mitigating risk and increasing performance for our athletes,” Javadifar said. “I look forward to drawing upon my experiences from the past three seasons as we work to provide our players with the most efficient and effective methods for maximizing their potential and improving their on-field performance.”
Javadifar doesn’t have to worry much about Tom Brady. The 44-year-old quarterback keeps himself in immaculate shape with a strict diet and exercise regimen. Aside from the four-game Deflategate suspension in 2016, he hasn’t missed a game due to injury since tearing his ACL to start the 2008 season.
Brady congratulated Javadifar on Twitter.
Congrats coach!!

Javadifar, who joined the Buccaneers in 2019, became one of the first women on a Super Bowl champion’s coaching staff alongside Assistant Defensive Line Coach Lori Locust.
Todd Bowles, fresh off his own notable promotion from defensive coordinator to head coach, commended Javadifar’s work with the organization.
“MJ has been an important member of our strength and conditioning staff these past three seasons, and I am looking forward to seeing her in this expanded role,” Bowles said. “She is a dedicated professional and a great person who really connects with the players.”
