9 times!

UPDATE:

Jayden Daniels has, once again, won the Pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Week award. This is his 9th award in 12 completed starts for Commanders starting quarterback, tying the mark for most RoW awards won by a single player with Ben Roethlisberger(2004) and Justin Herbert(2020).

In a game in which the Commanders struggled to prevail, no player was more key to the victory than Jayden Daniels.

Running

Jayden Daniels had impressive stats for the game. He was, in fact, the game’s leading rusher (for both teams), carrying the ball 11 times for 66 yards. And his most impressive runs weren’t always the longest.

Weird decision to go for 4th and 1 here in their own territory.

Jayden Daniels reached over the LOS, but the ball popped out, and was recovered by the #Commanders behind the LOS.

The ruling on the field is that Daniels was down by contact for a 1st down. Lucky.

Of course the longest run was pretty too.

He’s SO good.

Ugh it’s just an absolute joy to watch Jayden Daniels work.

This is fantastic.

Passing

For the fourth time this season, Daniels played a full game and finished with a completion rate above 80%. He is, in fact, the 1st rookie & 5th player in NFL history with a completion percentage of 80-or-higher in 4 games in a season (min. 20 attempts each game).

Jayden completed 25-31 for 226 yards and a pair of touchdowns as he completed passes to ten different receivers. As usual, he had no turnovers in the game, finishing with a passer rating of 118.5.

After fifteen weeks, the Commanders are 3rd in rushing yards, 4th in total yards and 6th in total points scored. The team is solidly in second place in the NFC East, and is currently positioned for the 7th seed in the NFC playoffs. These impressive achievements, coming in a rebuilding year in which the entire franchise was stripped down and rebuilt in a matter of months, are largely attributable to the high level of play and professionalism of Washington’s rookie quarterback, who is having an incredible season.

For my entire adult life, I’ve never spoke about this team in this way.

And it’s fun. @gmfb pic.twitter.com/JBjzWl3TvO

— Kyle Brandt (@KyleBrandt) September 30, 2024

Kyle Brandt: We need people to see Jayden Daniels; he is the best thing going right now – the coolest, most fun, most astonishing thing. The best show, right now! It’s not the Vikings; it’s not the Chiefs – it is the Commanders offense, and the Commanders as a whole, and I have never said that in my life.

Here’s another interesting stat….
Jayden Daniels surpassed 2,500 passing yards and 500 rushing yards yesterday joining Robert Griffin III and Cam Newton as the fastest players to reach those marks to begin an NFL career.
