Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels has played four NFL regular season games and he’s been nominated for each one as the Pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Week, winning the award in Weeks 1 & 3 for his play against the Buccaneers and Bengals on the road.
This week, he has been nominated for his outstanding play in Arizona against the NFC West Cardinals.

Last week’s victory over the Bengals on Monday Night Football was something of a ‘coming out party’ for the former LSU Tiger, as his offense put up 38 points against a Bengals team that many offseason observers considered to be a contender for the 2024 AFC championship.
Just six days later, Daniels and the Commanders offense upped the ante in yet another road game, this one against the Arizona Cardinals in which the burgundy & gold put 42 points on the scoreboard with seven scoring drives – five of them ending in touchdowns.
Once again, Daniels has been nominated for the prestigious award to recognize the dual threat he poses as both a passer and a runner.
- Through the air, No. 5 was 26-30 for 233 yard, with 1 touchdown and 1 interception.
- On the ground, he carried the ball 8 times for 47 yards and another touchdown.
His individual performance over the 4 weeks of his NFL career has led Daniels to a number of notable accomplishments.
QB Jayden Daniels has completed at least 85 percent of his passes in two consecutive games. He is the first quarterback in NFL history to have two consecutive games of at least 85 percent or higher completion percentage (minimum 15 attempts in each game).

Kyle Brandt: We need people to see Jayden Daniels; he is the best thing going right now – the coolest, most fun, most astonishing thing. The best show, right now! It’s not the Vikings; it’s not the Chiefs – it is the Commanders offense, and the Commanders as a whole, and I have never said that in my life.
Daniels’ second clutch performance in six days helped lead the Commanders to grab sole possession of first-place in the NFC East after a month of play.
