The rook is back
The Washington Commanders announced several roster moves yesterday, including the release of DE/LB Jamin Davis. They didn’t sign anyone to fill his spot on the 53-man roster, but it was expected that 5th-round rookie LB Jordan Magee was going to get activated from injured reserve. That move happened today, and Magee is now ready to make his NFL debut on Sunday against the Chicago Bears.
Magee had a good offseason, and was expected to make the roster and contribute during his rookie season. He suffered a knee injury during the first preseason game against the New York Jets. He had meniscus surgery, and was placed on injured reserve, which kept him sidelined for a minimum of four games. Washington opened his 21-day practice window on October 2nd and he needed to be activated by today, or he would have been shutdown for the season on IR. He joins a LB group with Frankie Luvu and Bobby Wagner starting.
