Washington makes more moves after their bye week
The Washington Commanders announced several roster moves today, and they will be getting a little help back on the offensive line. Saahdiq Charles has missed the last six games due to a calf injury. Washington opened his 21-day practice window on Wednesday, and he was a full participant in practice all week. The Commanders have officially activated him from IR, and he will be active for Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams. Ron Rivera told reporters today that Charles would play, but he wouldn’t step back into his starting LG role vs the Rams.
The Washington Commanders also announced that second-year TE Curtis Hodges was being placed on injured reserve. He showed up on the injury report on Wednesday with a back injury. Hodges has been a healthy scratch this year, and is now getting shut down for the season. This will likely be his last season in Washington, unless the next coaching staff can unlock his “potential”.
Ron Rivera also said that the team will be elevating RB Jonathan Williams from the practice squad. Brian Robinson suffered a hamstring injury vs the Miami Dolphins, and has been sidelined. He was ruled out, which means more playing time for Antonio Gibson and rookie Chris Rodriguez. Washington also has FB/TE Alex Armah, but Williams provides more depth and a solid special teams player.
